I have a '96 4.6 so is it a direct swap or will I have to do some modifications to make it fit?

It's a direct fit for the 80mm MAF. The 90mm MAF takes some patience and a heat gun or hairdryer.

I still have the stock MAF so is it still gonna work or will it be pointless to get the tube since the MAF is stock?

Don't bother with it then. If you had one of the L-MAF's or an aftermarket MAF it might be worth it. I'd save the money!

i agree with Tydlwavs, if you still have the stock maf, a- it aint worth getting the tube, go with a RichardM tube, and B- it probably wont fit on the stock maf, the tube is probably to big to fit over the stock maf.
