My last post was about my Optima red top swelling up and smoking so i got rid of it . I put a brand new battery in today , go to start it and theft light is flashing , my odometer nothing but lines , and cranks but doesn’t start ???? Tried both my keys , nothing . What could this be now ?

sounds like a PATS issue but try this.

take the key out, turn the steering wheel until it locks then try and start it.

If that doesn't work turn the steering wheel in both directions then try and start it.

Dashes means that there is no connection between ECU and the instrument panel.
Most likely the problem is that the minus/negative to the battery from ECU have accidently disconnected while you changed the battery.
The connector is located between the battery and the fuse box.
Just a single wire connector, quite large (white if Idoesn't mistake).

is the car tuned ?

I've had similar issues after making changes, with my handheld.

reinstalling tune had always worked.

mine however had theft and dash bUT didn' crank..

the pcm ground is on radiator support by battery..

the oem ground wire going to support I've had issues on..causing pcm issue..

along with 1 of the eye hook grounds there also..note green bolts..

good luck..I expect it' just a bad ground ..

it is common to have issues after working on car..

I see your elbows may have touched this area when pulling battery..not that your work was at fault
