I am having problems reading codes with my new Xcal2. This is what i did:
Leave car off, attach cable to plug
Scroll to Read codes and it just says "error reading dtsc codes" press select

What does this mean??? It wont let me erase all codes either.

Appreciate any help!!

You have to turn the car to accessory, or hell you can even turn the car on.

1. Plug the Xcal2 in.
2. Turn the key to accessory (right before it starts), Or start it. (Basically when your gauges are working it will work)
3. Then go to read codes.

Good Luck.

Forgot to write that but thats what i did! I turned key to "on" but didn't start it, so then i tried to start it but it wouldn't start at all with the xcal plugged in?? Plugged it out and it started fine.

Thanks for the help anyways!

You have to plug it in then turn the car to to the run postion not the start position or the assec position.

It can't erase the codes if the computer is not open to do so.
