Xcal2 and the dreaded 01 pinging

The vortech is going on within two weeks, but I've already got my Xcal2 (in preparation for the dyno tune). I figured since its sitting right here on my desk with me, I might as well try it out.

I had a stock tune with user adjustable features put on it, and a "limp-me-to-the-dyno" tune for after the install.

I want to load the stock tune onto the car (bone stock 01) and see if I can't get rid of that dreaded 01 pinging under part throttle.

Should I richen the fuel first, or pull timing first?

you pull out the timing, then SLOWLY add it back in till it pings, then add fuel, if the ping doesnt stop, take the timing back out.

thats what i did on both of my cars, Zetec Escort and Mach1
