I registered just to reply to this post. I'm DYING to get an IRS in my car. I'm in Michigan zip is 48073. Car is a 97 Cobra with 80K on it. 2 Years ago it had 30K. Car is in great condition and the rear is fine. Just needs control arm bushings but if you're swapping why not use different arms or if not I'll buy you new bushings. I have a garage and want to get the cars side by side to swap over a weekend. I have jackstands and a jack, along with most tools we will need. We can get anything else before the swap. Its the stock 8.8 out of the Cobra. Its a tiny bit shorter than the 99+ 8.8 and you will be able to run wider tires so swapping a 94-98 rear is ideal for your situation. Also the rear has brand spanking new Tokico D-Spec adjustable shocks. Installed them 2 or 3 weeks ago and I love them! Since my car is a Cobra too we dont have to worry about brakes either since the GT's brakes wont work with the IRS. Let me know I really want to get an IRS for a smoother daily driver. I dont care about drag racing and want the solid out of there.
