Do you know or are you just saying? The car would start, just not easily. I would thnk if the ignition switch was unplugged, it wouldn't start at all.

Me, me, me..I know this..

The harness where you found this connector is part of the starter harness. It runs under the motor to the starter, it also grounds to the frame and provides the battery wire and also connects to the alternator.

The connector you mention, runs all the way down to the starter.

Well, I though the starter was out. It wouldn't turn over at all. I would try several more times, and evntually it would work. I have a brand new, Optima Yellow top, so I know the voltage is good. I replaced the starter, and it did the exact same thing. It has been hard to start for a while now. I also replaced the IAC. It was better the first fews days after that, but it is still hard to start.

It takes several cranks to get it to fire, then it runs like an old carb;d motor that is running too rich. The rpm struggles to idle at about 500, then it pulls up to about 1200 before it settles at 90 and idles fine.

You just said it wouldn't turn over at all!!
The ignition switch being bad wouldn't let the vehicle start.
