I took my car to the stealership because there was a tick coming from underneath the driver's side engine. Its was more noticeable as the car warmed up. Anyways the service advisor just called me saying that I have bad cats (stock) and that is the reason why I have the tick. Is this even possible? They are ordering new cats to fix the tick.

I thought for sure I had bad lifters/heads...

BTW I have a 04 comp orange cobra:coolman:

If the honeycomb breaks apart inside and rattles at idle it sound alot like a tick or knock. Been there done that. You might be able to shake or bang on the cats with your hand while under the car to hear if anything is loose in there.

very possible....might be an exhaust leak too
Well for sure its not an exhaust leak because I had it checked by a muffler shop first. (Also thought it was an exhaust leak)
