WTB: Ford Explorer

Wtb: 4wd suv

I'm looking to get a 4WD SUV, maybe a truck. Not looking to spend over 15k and don't want something with high miles. I'll most likely be taking it to grad school with me, so it needs to be reliable. If anyone knows of any good deals out there let me know.

Do yourself a favor and get an older one. Do not buy a 2001 or newer. You will have transmission problems and rear problems. We have 4 ford explorers ranging from 96-99.also ranging from 155,000 miles - 272,000...Never rebuilt a transmission. Replaced any rears. Just basic maintenence.

Ive had 2 02 explorers and have only replaced a ccrm on the first and rear fluid on the current (rear whine).

Also, get a v8, the gas mileage difference is minimal between them.
