yet another example of what I was talking about the OPs sense of entitlement.

If I found out that anyone I had given either an FOP or PBA card to, used it in the manner the OP suggests, I would kick their ass.

I used to be a member of FOP Lodge 44 here in AZ (for AZ-DOC), and I knew a few young'ins who thought that their FOP branded plates (see below - an AZ option) was a ticket for them to speed whenever they wanted.

Oh, they got away with a couple here and there, but it eventually caught up to most of them.

I dont know any "real" Law Enforcement Officer that would ever identify themselves in that manner.

This is why I never got one. I have a family, and have no need for extra risks just get out of tickets. Exactly why I'd also change out of uniform once my shift was over.

But yes. This is an option for all FOP members in Arizona. It was usually the younger ones that wanted to show off that got it.

Well I dont agree with the FOP/PBA cards I find that more times then not people use them as the OP did here to "get out of a ticket". I try to balance the amount of citations and warning I write in any given month (and no we dont have a quota Sarge said I could write all that I wanted)

I dont mark any of my vehicles with FOP/PBA or thin blue line stickers either, just plain everyday plates.... Too many times I see people cutting in traffic, running way over the speed limit and when I do catch up I find FOP or "E" tags... It sets a bad example for everyone... It only takes one "bad cop" to make us all look bad.

Ohh and my new fancy radar/laser system can detect a "jammer" then hide iteself, we tested alot of detectors before we went on board with the system. so much for that expensive detector......... plus plain old pacing works too.

If anything having one of those PBA cards or Tags should make you more accountable for your actions just like it does the rest of the real officers in the world.

Just my 2 cents take it for what it is.......................

The bottom line is; there is no logical, honorable or legal reason for any agency, union or POA to issue badges, cards or any other item rendering the bearer exempt in any way, shape or form.

The system in which we work functions under the assumption we will carry out our responsibilities blindly and without prejudices; retaining "officer discretion" as a minor tool we each control as a means to balance the gap between the spirit of the law and the letter of the law.

The moment we turn a blind eye to someone we don't even know simply because they possess a piece of card stock signed by an officer we don't know - the system is in jeopardy.

I find it amazing the New York Police Department officially denounces the cards, but the officer's union continues to issue them and openly leverages their membership to honor the "favoritism" they represent.

If you mean stealth detector I guess you didn't bother looking at the power of the 9500ci
1) 2 front RADAR antennas to increase signal sensitivity while minimizing false alerts;

2) 100% invisible to all Radar Detector Detectors - VG2, VG4, Spectre II, Spectre III, Spectre IV and Stalcar RDD;

3) Radar Detection of Ka police radar and Instant on at 8-10 mile distance on flat highway;

4) Superb at detecting over-the-hill, hidden police radar speed traps;

5) GPS modules included to isolate false radar traps and real radar traps and remebers both types

6) NEW GPS TrueLock is used to intelligently reduce unwanted false alarms using ADAPTIVE SIGNAL PROCESSING (ASP) to learn the radar signal for real speed trap threats or false radar alerts

7) Includes the NEW ZR4 Laser Shifters - 3 laser jammers to defeat any laser gun aimed at you, updated to defeat all laser guns used today, including the stealth, dual pulse laser guns

Laser doesn't worry me that much with this thing in my Cobra.

You're very arrogant for someone who was trying to make the point that they weren't saying they were "entitled" to anything.

It's nice that you can quote a sales pitch, but what will be nicer is your face the day you receive a summons and your "Escort 9500ci" failed you because it can't detect VASCAR. :loser:
