Has anyone else ever noticed that for the 2012 model year the Boss speedometer registered higher than a GT500? The Boss was 180 & the Shelby was only 160.

I thought that the reason the 2013 GT500 got such a HP boost was that the '12 Boss and GT500 were two close and competing for the same market. I believe I read somewhere that the '12 Boss is better in many areas than the 'flagship' GT500 of the same year.

The 5.4 motor seems to be a wimp compared to the Boss/Coyote on the grand scale when modded. In stock form they seem to run very close times, and the Boss handles 10X better.

I've only driven an 09 GT500, so the Iron block(12 GT500 would be a little less nose heavy), but that thing was god awful to drive through any kind of turns. I purchased the slightly more expensive, (GT500 was used of course) 11 GT that had just come out because it felt really close in power and stock handling was 10X better.

That would make sense, I mean a Boss with 444 and 3650 compared to a GT500 with 550 at 3820 seems kinda sad. Plus a 5.4 with a 2.3 blower only making 100 more HP is also sad.

The new GT500 though I don't think is the same animal, especially with the track pack.
