Hey guys I just purchased a full Bassani Exhaust from the headers back. It has an x pipe with no cats. Someone was telling me that If the car has no cats, the car will blow blue smoke and the exhaust will smell really rich. Is this true?? Whats the difference with or without cats, ( other than the loudness of the exhaust without cats)

Blue is oil. Black is raw gas. Cats' function is to burn raw gas that combustion didn't burn. Yes, with no cats it will smell like gas behind the car -- just drive behind an old 1960's muscle car or any motocycle sometime and you'll get the idea. Cats burn gas/yield cleaner exhaust, smooth out exhaust noise. Not much hp loss if any with cats unless you're getting in the 600-650 hp range or more. Most people take off cats just for the extra noise -- audible but not real hp.
