I have a 2004 svt focus. I am considering buying a supercharger or turbo but im a little concerned about the higher compression. Does anybody know if you have to drop the compression in order to safly run a supercharger or turbo?

Based on internet reading only, it seems that low boost can be used on the stock motor. More boost requires intercooling and higher octane. If you want even more power, a built motor becomes a requirement.

www.focaljet.com and www.focusfanatics.com are the two sites where I've read up on this subject the most.

10psi Max with a rough tune....get it tuned really nice, and I'd think 12psi would be possible...pushing it, but possible..

JRSC limit is about 10 or so, but requires pulling a lot of timing, or pulling minimal timing with water/meth. injection..
