Modern Horsepower

World's First M156 63 AMG & M159 SLS AMG Billet Camshafts

Modern Horsepower (MHP) is proud to announce the release of our M156 & M159 billet camshafts and matching software for naturally aspirated, nitrous, and forced induction applications.

Combined with custom MHP v3 (pump gas) or v4 (race gas) CDT (ECU Tuning) our billet sticks gained an astonishing 42rwhp & 17rwtq gains naturally aspirated, translated into flywheel numbers that's an additional 52HP & 21lb/ft at the crankshaft.

Dyno Tuning in humid Orlando, FL on 2/10-2/11/12 Dads C63 (Keith Brantley) made an astounding 525rwhp & 470rwtq N/A or 656HP & 588lb/ft at the crank with no load applied (previous dynos were done with 20% load and netted 5-10% more HP/TQ) due to an electrical issue on the dyno. That equates to gains of 205HP & 145lb/ft over stock without the aid of forced induction or nitrous with his MHP S4 Package.

On a 125 shot of nitrous the numbers jumped to an incredible 634rwhp & 669rwtq or 793HP & 836lb/ft at the crank, potentially more impressive was the gain over previous stock cam 160 shot numbers of 622rwhp and 602rwtq or 778HP and 753lb/ft; netting an additional 15HP & 83lb/ft despite using 35HP less nitrous with our billet cams and revised camshaft tuning.

On a 200 shot (as seen in the video linked below) Keith's MHP S4 C63 looked like it was going to explode off the dyno. Final numbers ended up being 684rwhp & 723rwtq or 831HP & 881lb/ft at the crank, garnering MHP the World's most Powerful M156 63 AMG title in both N/A and Power Adder trim.

Dyno Jet Dyno, DA 1400', and despite a lack of airflow on the dyno and not being able to apply load (+5-10% HP) due to no 220 electrical connection in the dyno shops new location yet:

With decent fans, load applied and non FL humid air this is an easy 540-550rw N/A engine.

Track results otw. We went [email protected] last year with 622rwhp/547rwtq SAE. Should be interesting to say the least, as should the 60-130, which was 6.66 on the old 622/547 stock top end 160 shot.

What else is part of the "MHP S4" package that gains 205fwhp over stock without the use of FI or NOS if the cams/tune themselves gained 52fwhp? Where does the difference of 152fwhp come from?

Thanks guys!

It's a stock longblock N/A package. Full exhaust: 1 7/8" LTs, 3" Mids, 3" Catback with X pipe, Tstat, CF air inlets, ported cylinder heads, cams, and ECU tuning that's it.

451HP to 656HP, 443lb/ft to 588lb/ft N/A.

Thanks

You should get a hold of Jeremy Clarkson (Top Gear) because he LOVES that car/engine.

He could get you some great press for your business.

Forgive me but a Benz should not sound like that. I love the power numbers but that is just too loud for a car that most consider "refined".

Despite my sound taste, great work promoting the new platform!

What spark plugs did you go with?

Stock for N/A, 1.5 stages colder for 200 shot.

Wow great numbers! Any photos of the car?

Thanks! Here you go:

To each his own and I respect your take. That's with full race exhaust in place. Swap back to the stock catback, lose 20rw but it's nowhere near as loud. He only uses the race exhaust (catback) at strip or on track.

gt500 SVT wheels?????

Forgestar F14. Cheap and light. He has 4 sets of HREs as well.

MHP makes some great set up for the 6.3L. The bad part is how after watching the video and look at pic make me HATE my clk55 now.

That's odd? We've been running colder NGK plugs for spray for over 1.5 years now. Unless he was talking about a 2012 CL63 with M157 TT DI 5.5L?

We run Brisk plugs now.
