Awesome build man. This thread and a few friends made me decide to buy the fan upgrade kit for my Afco H/E. Good luck with the tuning!

Small Update: Tuning with Kevin is going very well and I can already tell a big difference in the way the car feels. So far we are on third gear pulls and I am super pumped.

So far after putting some miles on my new clutch cable set up I am very happy with how it feels. Today though I did some maintenance stuff. Back when I installed the valve covers I snapped one. Of course this lead to oil spitting all over my engine bay, so I had to pull the driver's side valve cover again and fix that...

Also, as some of you guys remember, I ordered MMR Billet tie downs a few months back for a pretty penny. When they started rusting, MMR sent me their "new, and improved" stainless steel bolts. Well, MMR, if your bolts can't go 3 months on a garage kept car without rusting you can piss off with your half assed garbage. I switched out to ARP black oxide bolts instead.

Also got to figure out my throttle body sticking issue. Turns out the butterfly was getting stuck in the body because the idle set screw was falling out the back of the throttle body. A minor adjustment and some green loctite later, and hopefully that is good as new.

So that is where we are. Hopefully in the next day or two the valve cover will be back on, I will be back to tuning, and I will be meeting up with the Bullitt Master ninety5fiveoh for a special mod courtesy of Mooch. I can't wait so stay tuned.

It has been a little while since I stopped by. It looks like you have made some nice head way since then. Man! The car looks great. I sure like the color (and all the work you have done). I bet you are on cloud 9 with the new build. Kevin is the MAN!

Hey, can you give me the part # to those ARP cover fasteners. They will look great with the covers I have going on.

Looks good Woody! I'd see if MMR would give you a refund or partial refund. Hell those Allen bolts look like grainger Allen bolts my work uses.

Their "partial refund" was to send me their "new and improved" SS bolts that are sitting in my garage doing nothing... probably rusting as well.

I think the bolts are a m6x1.0x25mm.
ARP P/N 600-1002

Also if anyone is interested I found some larger washers from ARP they are a little thicker but have a recess for the bolt head. They are kind of expensive though.

They are a .89 OD

ARP P/N 200-8761

So since I had the engine bay tore apart already I decided it was time to modify the HB to look cleaner. I like the performance aspect of the HB but hate the maintenance aspect and the way I had my IAC line run.

So first I decided where to put my inlet and I drilled a hole in the bottom of the tube. In that I mounted a nipple with a loctited bolt inside and then smothered it all in butyl

Then I relocated the intake air sensor. I drilled out the pcv inlet and mounted the sensor there, smothered in butyl again but with silicone sealant around the grommet inside the tube as well.

Then the scary part...
Marked the spot...

and whabam....

but in the end I like how it came out, and it will make changing plugs easier because I no longer have to pull the wheel and the filter...

AFTER:

I am playing with the idea of moving the intake sensor again, filling in the hole and repainting the while tube, but that may be a winter project. I want it in front of the MAF up by the filter but I didn't want to take that on right now. I haven't messed with fiberglass in years.

However, in true Cobra fashion, there is a negative in all this.

While we were balancing my front wheels (because the shop I used before did a shitty job) we pop the stick on wheel weights off one of my front wheels and lose a chunk of plasma in the barrel. Its about the size of a half dollar. It sucks but I knew this finish was fragile and I knew I needed to refinish them someday, just can't do it right now. It is only a matter of time for it to start spreading but I hope its slower than I expect it to be...

Stellar update. Nice progress buddy.

And how bad is the wheel? Any pics?

No, I was too disappointed to snap a pic. I will be taking one soon though because I have to take the wheels off to clean them anyway once I get this pig running right. I still may need to get the TB rebuilt so my tuning is being held up by that.

Where did you hide the wideband box? On the tunnel under the radio?

But on the upside I got to put my new splitters on! Big shout of to Mooch and Ninety5fiveoh for these. You guys rock. I mounted them in slightly for a subtle touch...
