I would like to mount my M/T 29.5 x 9 inch slicks on my racestar 15 x 8 inch rims with 5.5 backspacing. Will they fit on my 2012 GT or will the Slicks rub??

I think they would rub unless the car is jacked up

They'll rub. Stock height is roughly 28" tall, then you have to take into account the tire growth of the slick on the top end.
