I was just wondering if 275/40/17 goodyear f1's will fit my stock rim. Im pretty sure that is the widest I can go. Please tell me if I am right. Thanks!

they should. 03/04 cobra factory rims are the same size, and they come with 275s from teh factory. should be fine...

They do fit.. sometimes they are tight though. depending on the tires.. my 275 F1-D3's are VERY VERY tight on my 01 rims.... sidewalls bulge some.. if you read the specs for the 275's (at least the f1-d3's is a 9 inch rim) SO if its for looks go for it.. but performance, bigger rim.

i have pretty fat yokohama 275s on my stock rims in the front. you will be fine.

275 nittos fit pretty damn well actually. perfect wear patterns front and back for me.

guys....guys....guys... :nonono: .....1999-2001 Cobra wheels except for the 2000 R were 17x8" wheels. The biggest siggested wheel to fit on a 8" wide wheel would be a 255. Putting a 275 on a 8" wide wheel would be pointless because the contact patch of the tire would be about the same as a 255 so you are blowing money away. The only 275 tire that will really fit on a 8" wide wheel is the Nitto 275s because as stated before the Nittos tend to run smaller than regular. In 2003 the Cobra got a set of 17x9" wheels which are a 9" wide wheel instead of 8" wide. So to answer the original question, yes the 275 will fit. Will you get all of the contact patch on the ground? No. Is it worth getting the 275s over 255s for a 8" wide wheel? No.

now would the 305s and the 315s hurt for the guys who have lowered there cars?

The 305 is for a 18" wheel and the 315 is for a 17" wheel.

Why would you want to run 275s on the front? Not to mention on a 8" wide wheel? :poke:

You could send them to someone to widen them but that is not the best idea. Infact I could be wrong but I believe in my state it is against the law to do that.

I have 275's on all four corners of my 99 vert and they look awesome. In the future I plan to add 18" cobra r rims with 275s up front and a wider tire in the back.

why would i not?

the car sticks GREAT, my tire wear is perfect, no rubbing, i'll accept the .2 loss in mpg. plus they look aggressive.

i do not like staggered tire setups.
