I'm new to Texas and would like to know if Nitto NT05R and Mickey Thompson ET Street Radial IIs will pass the state inspection. Please only reply if you have first-hand experience with one or both of these tires. Thanks,

Matt

ET street radials, when new, will pass inspection.

2/32 of tread is the minimum.

I cannot speak for the NT05R personally, but have heard it passes too. It really depends on the inspector.

Now, after either of these tires have been used for a while, they likely will not pass.

Thanks for the feedback, I appreciate it. I was leaning towards the NT05Rs but think I'm going to go with the ET street radials unless some else has experience with the Nittos. On a side note, it looks like you have some nice Focuses! A shop near where I used to live in Northern CA also did a 32V swap a few years back.
