i bought an auburn pro 31 spline differential to do a solid axle swap and just started putting parts together to do it. now if i decide to stay irs, can i put the auburn into the irs housing? will it fit?

should be fine as far as i know. an 8.8 is an 8.8. Plus the '01 has 31 spline axles.

right thats my thought process exactly. i was just tryin to make sure the carriers were the same and didnt require a certain style diff....if the auburn will fit im gunna install it in the irs and call it a day...
