GT disappointing I don't think so. GR8TWHITE I blieve in your cars times. I have seen many well driven New Edge GT's run with Z28s and also turn some respectable numbers at the track. I had a 99 GT 5spd that had all the bolt ons with out gears(never had it on the track though) and I could run with(beat) a moderately well driven LS1. The only one that ran right with me was a 01 WS6 with a Lid and catback. I love the GT's they respond so freakin well to a minimum of mods and plus noone expects them to run well, ( a sleeper if you will) Who cares if a certain car (import) can run with a GT big deal, it is still a hell of a lot cheaper to make that GT quicker than it is for most of the imports, give me a new GT again and half of what it costs to make most any import run low 12s to high 11s and I will be in the low 11s- high 10s. I do agree to a certain point that Ford has kind of forgotten about the GTs. They have the torque, but lack the upper breathing to really get cooking. Anyway I am not going on anymore until SStrikerSix can learn to spell or proofread, my head hurts.

Fords not even really trying to compete w/ srt4 type cars. here we get a 170hp zx3 we're wowed. Back in 92 the european escort cosworth had 345hp from an i4. so its not that they cant, it more or less they really dont wanna.

Well I doubt that the Fbod is that killer of a handling machine stock. Just like any car it can be made to do everything better. Yep they were given a great power plant. Yep they were quick. But that same SRT4 that runs 12's with "$500 in mods" will walk the stock LS1's also. So did GM forget about you guys? I mean they quit building the Fbods? They left you guys to be raped by mildly modded factory waranteed Neons?

This whole post just looks like an attempt to insult the Stang guys with a hypothetical "threat". Even if this MODDED Neon can run 12's once the modding begins all bets are off. That's like saying my modded GT can kill this stock WS6. WHoopie, it should. That is the purpose of modding.

Stab at the Stang's handling? I do recall the 1.01g the 2000R achieved on the skid pad. That is better than your beloved ZO6 even. And any Cobra could do the SIMPLE Cobra R suspension mods to achieve those numbers. Same holds true for the lowly GT's. Actually the GT's can get there pretty easily since they tend to be a touch lighter.

You even went a little further to say that MY car is one dimensional in your PM. LOL No, that it is not. I know it may be hard for you to believe, but it does all I want it to. It does still corner very well. Better than when it was factory. Yes it will leave the tree, and much better than when it was stock. Outbrake me? Hey I have no idea on that one. My brakes are still stock and I never got into an "I can stop faster than you" race. That just sounds like a ricer argument to me. Toss in the "twisties and braking" comments when the real point of the original statement is lost. The GT's are "slow", which is proven very wrong. Nope we aren't the fastest things on the road. But we are far from the slow road obstacles you have portrayed.
