Widest street tire on factory 18s

My factory Pirellis are about toast, looking to go slightly wider on the rears and still keep the factory 18x8s.

What's the widest you can go, 265-275/35-40?

Did a search but only came up with drag radial results

you can go how ever wide you feel like going. Manufactures have specs AKA recommendations--too narrow you get stretch to wide your over square. Stretch people say they will blow off the rim (Ive never had this happen once and Ive run retardedly stretched tires and used them at over 100mph) too wide you will get the shoulder rolling over itself (have had this happen)

I have 255-45-18 on mine. Thats as wide as i would go.

you can fit a 275 fine and it will barely bulge
