This guy had an unfortunate experience with the wall. He is, thankfully, OK.

Here is his story with a little information on how his safety equipment helped him:

Doc:

That is very typical of a Z06 crash. :( Another reason I don't want to be in one on the track. :dw:

Here is a photo of another Z06 that lost his brakes and ran into a Mustang. The Mustang had a little wrinkled up sheet metal on the rear quarter:

In a different incident, when Terry's friend hit the wall going into turn 5 at Road America it was not pretty. He was beat up pretty bad with internal injuries and the car looked like it hit a brick wall at 150. It pretty much exploded on impact.

Hey, I'll take my chances driving around the a little slower in a Mustang! :-D

I saw a 94/95 Cobra and an ?05 WRX STi meet the wall at Turn 1 in Mosport this week. Both cars looked totalled, front and rear damage. Next day a Miata went off into the tires head first right in front of me. Yikes... Everyone walked away, cars didn't look too great.

Glad I put a rollbar and related equipment in, hope I never ever need to test it.
