Why Can't I change my Avatar??

When I go to change my avatar a window first pops up thanking me for updating my profile. Then it takes me to the avatar window. So I click browse my computer and pick what I want. It has been formatted to fit your specs. Now when I hit "submit changes" It takes me to a window about recovering my password.

Why is it taking me there? I know what my password is.
