Aftermarket sure is on point these days...they got Supercharger systems available before the car is in production.

I see this being a lot more effecient... that inlet (would it still be an elbow?) is HUGE compared to the current model i feel.

It's incredibly more efficient. The less turns/bends in the screw inlet, the higher the VE percentage. This is mainly due to more equal rotor filling. Plenum volume also makes an incredible difference. People started to see this when the mammoth/crusher inlets started to become popular.

This type of inlet(or lack there of) is the most ideal. You mainly see them on Marine applications:
