I'm an army brat myself... Dad spent 12 years in... 4 years back in the early 70's in the Marines, 8 years, from 84 to 92, in the Army, 5 of those years as an officer in counter intellegence (84 to 89).

Thanks to George Bush Sr. (and partially Ronald Regan) instead of retiring the Captains that had over stayed there welcome they rifted 47% of the first lutinents (my dad) in at the time (this was back in 89), so he was forced to the enlisted rank of sargent or a discharge.

In 91 he got his orders to be premoted to captain but he tore them up and decided to call it quits. (who could blame him?)

I myself have never really had any desire to join the military even though I come from a family with a strong military oriented back ground. Part of my reason is how dad, and many other men in dads position, were treated when he served during the regan/bush campaigns.

U.S. Navy. Very cool. I work with a few guys that are in the Navy over here. There are not very many that I have seen. I love the uniforms!
