I saw this in an ad in Hemming's and thought you guys might be interested. Up for grabs is a 2005 GT that is number 1,308 out of approximately 4,000 units. 5 dollars gets you 3 tickets (more tickets for the money as it goes up)

The link is
http://www.ronald-mcdonaldhouse.com/events/car2006/index.html

I entered in 2004 for a 1968 Shelby GT-500 KR that they gave away - the picture is in the Previous cars section...And "no" I did not win it ;-)

The only bummer is the winner has to pay the sales tax which will be $30,000.00 plus.... :(

Make sure to read the FAQ's....

I would bet 100 people on SVTP would pay $300 to have a ride in one. :)

They could of made it a little easier to keep...lol

"Taxes shall be the value of the Ford GT,
$152,445, less the amount of tickets purchased, then
compute 25% of the remaining balance to determine the
withholding tax. example is $152,445, less $200 in tickets
purchased equals tax base of $152,245. multiply .25% and
the tax due is $38,061.25. Winner has until November 1,
2006, or 39 days after the drawing to pay the tax to
Ronald Mcdonald House. Should the winner be unable
to pay the tax, then ronald mcdonald house shall
subsitute a cash prize of $100,000.00. the irs will demand
a 28% withholding since this now becomes a cash prize.
$100,000.00 multiplied by 28% is $28,000, so the winner
shall receive a cash award after taxes of $72,000.00
and shall forfiet all rights to the 2005 ford gt. the
2005 ford gt shall then be sold on the open market to
the highest bidder."

how many miles do think that you could put on in 37 days or so?

None as you guys fail to realize that the keys would not be handed over till the tax was paid........

Now if it was a Canadian contest we would have you beat as we do not pay tax on prizes from contests or on lottery winnings......

I think most guys on this board would gladly pay $38,000.00 for a 2005 GT. My wife would probably freak out if I was lucky enough to win it (the 65 GT Fastback restoration is costing enough)

I don't know if I could go from Georgia to Alberta Canada - the cold MIGHT be to much....

Even with the $72k cash prize, I would be getting one hell of a sweet ride. TT cobra here I come! Still, I think I could get my parents to fork over the 38 grand if the car could honestly be sold in the next month for $150k. Good investment there.
