I have a problem...

I'm buying 18" BBS Plasma Rims very soon, and trying to decide the SIZE of the tires to put on it. The front are 18x8.5 and the rear are 18x10.

I've run across a good deal on some 285/40/18's, but is this too tall for the back?

Please advise!

do the math & determine what % error the tire diameter
change would give you then you can make the call. I think
285's are too narrow for a 10" rim IMO.

the tire diameters are readily avail on tire companies sites

You'll need 295+ 35 series for the 18x10's.
Be careful if you run lowering springs with BBS RK's.
They are a different offset [20mm I believe??] than most others and you will have fender clearance issueswith big tires.
I was running 305/35/18 Nitto DR's and had to roll my fenders.
I'm switching to a 295/35/18 Michelin Pilot Sport.
I'll give up a little "street Hook" for safe wet Weather Driving and better treadwear.
I also run ET Streets at the Track.
