I apologize if this is in the wrong section, please move if need be.

A friend of mine notified me of this company, 6LE Designs, after he bought a custom bumper from them for the 93-97 Camaro that added the lower half of a 98-02 Camaro bumper. They had a mold made and started making these bumpers. When I told my friend of the difficulty trying to locate a 99/01 Cobra bumper he told me to get in touch with this company so I did and this was their response:

So I am here to ask you all, who is interested in getting these bumpers remade? There is much interest out there for them. Lets make it happen so we can all get that desired look we want for the front end of our new edge Mustangs. I am not involved with this company at all. I simply got in touch with them asking if they would be interested and I am forwarding on their response in hopes that we can get this bumper back in production.

I may be in but it will be after Christmas which is not far off. How long after they get the money will they be released? are they gone to come primed like the OEM does? what is our guarantee on fit? I dont what to plunk out 550/600 for something I got to fight to get to work. I work in a bodyshop so I have seen some real junk out there. Have you seen any of there products and how they fit? Do they come with the mount brackets on the sides. or do we transfer our own? are they gone to have the previsions for the fog lamps to bolt up?

I myself also work in a body shop so I am more trained than the average Joe at what to look for in the product. As I had stated in the beginning of my post, I have seen their work so I do know that it is quality. However you raise a lot of valid points that I would like to bring up with Mark, the man I spoke with about getting this started.

It would be nice and obviously reassuring to know that the bumpers were CAPA certified but that is a whole process in itself getting approvals and certifications for all that, so I doubt it would go that far if there isn't much demand.

I would like to see that the product is guaranteed to fit before following through further with this process. If the fitment is off then I myself am out, as I would imagine everyone else would be too. There is nothing more frustrating than fighting to get an aftermarket bumper to fit correctly, it's the front of the car and the center of attention, as well as the first thing that people see.

I will email Mark about all of these concerns so he knows we're not looking to butcher our cars. When it comes to quality and fitment its all or none. If its off and we're gonna fight with it or something doesn't look right, I'm almost positive that I can guarantee no one will buy it.

Please ask any other questions or concerns, as I will forward them on to the man in charge of this operation. I am simply a middle man just trying to receive a product that I want on my car. I am not getting any cut from this or getting a bumper for free, just doing some homework on trying to get the bumper made by an aftermarket company.

*edit* I have sent Mark an email and I will let you know what his response is.

That's a pretty steep price for an a/m Ford part. With laws the way they are these bumpers will not be exactly like OEM. As someone who was a bodyman and is now an appraiser I would never pay $550 for an a/m bumper. The good thing is it's urethane so you can work with it to try and make it fit, but a/m parts have to have some differences or else they are violating the laws.

It's a good idea as long as they are truly the same as OEM. Urethane is urethane and one main concern I would have is are they coming primed and if so what kind of primer. I would also be concerned if they will guarantee proper fit out of the box like Keystone Automotive does on their certified parts.

I do like that they are made 100% in the USA.

I imagine they can't be any worse than a Keystone Automotive bumper though and their prices are ridiculous on some bumper covers.

I was wondering the same as they can't remake on spec and they must do something different otherwise you are opening a possible lawsuit. I would ask them about that and see what there response is or if they know of how to address.

The way I feel about price is if this guy has the only horse in town and you want to buy it well then how bad do you want it. Good quality A/M parts cost, how much do you pay for a A/M engine part that you cant even see? or how much for a set of good wheels? I really dont think the price is that bad if they are nice and fit good and not friendly to everyone when you pass by them. ( in other words real wavy )
I wont even get into how I feel about "most" A/M body parts and Keystone and the BS Capa certified parts.IMO I would be better off pissing into the wind.

I'd be interested, if it's $550 though, would it not be better to just find a take off that someone is selling? I've been hearing of people getting good condition ones for considerably less than that.

I would be interested but I want to know more about some of the issues people have raised here first.

Tempted to add my name and ship to my parents in Texas. I don't want to know what it costs to ship to Hawaii. If you get close to your number, I may help push you over.

I don't think this company understands how desirable this bumper is. If they understood they wouldn't be asking for 10 pre orders. Honestly they should do the fog light bezels too. I'd be in for 550 but not right this minute.

Makes me wanna rip mine off and go sell it in the forums for 650 with bezels and lights the prices you people are throwing around lol. 550 for barebones is alot. I understand the reason they are saying this, because basically its a custom job they are doing. All depends on how bad you want a new bumper cover though!!
