It has its pluses and negatives. The negatives being I can't really stick it to anyone and everything has to be documented, which takes some extra work. The positives are that I don't get into situations where I lose money because of a missed calculation or misreading a plan.

The larger projects have all been fixed firm. I could pour through the spec book for a year and still miss something. I’ll try to whack them on extras and change orders. Half the time I feel like I’m buying a project with no margin knowing I can make it up in extras and change orders. I feel slimey doing it that way but it’s what all the bigger builders do, don’t hate the player hate the game I guess.
