I am eventually going to go to a big single-turbo setup with all the bells and whistles, but keep it relatively streetable. I love manual trannies, but for a toy that's gonna see a LOT of racing, I think an auto is definately in my future, but I don't want the 4R70W because of gearing, and I don't want the C4 because it's a 3-speed, so this new 5R55S you guys have is really peaking my interest. Is there anybody out there who's building them to hold a lot of power, like say, 700rwhp or more? I was looking into them and they have similar gearing to a close-ratio 5-speed manual, which is awesome since Ford usually puts really crappy gearing in late-model autos. I'm sure by the time I do this, there will be 10 different companies building these. Any other thoughts on their durability in stock form, etc?
