I wanted to stay in the Marines... I loved it. After 6 yrs, they wouldn't let me re-enlist due to the injuries I sustained on my 2nd tour in the southern no-fly zone in Iraq. 15 surgeries later here I am... Getting ready for my 16th.

Actually, I admit to remembering wrong, 2010 was a good time for meeting recruitment goals. We were in the Great Recession and retention was good. Time flies.
The problem is there's nothing wrong with me so I couldn't get it and I'm wayyy too young to sit around and do nothing. Idk between my pension at 55 plus the annuity and social security that's a pretty high number
I got out 3 weeks before my 10 year mark. There were a few reasons to that. I had a master chief flat out tell me I wouldn't make it in the current job market. That was the end of 2008. I told him I'd rather take my chances out there than stay here. He was a little surprised his tactic didn't work.

Wow thank the heavens I never stayed in and got out in 2011
I am not sure it was ever a place of great wealth.
