When installing these TBs, its critical to torque them to mounting bolt specification. They (Whipples) are a little sensitive to over torquing and abnormal tightening. A torque wrench needs to be used to get everything down where its happy.

Also, verify the seal is evenly installed in the seal groove on the inlet elbow.

Torque specification is 89 INCH pounds or 7.5 foot pounds.

Ive read on other forums that a little valve lapping compound where you think it might be making contact with the housing can help "break in" the plate to the housing. Engine off, apply a little to the blade and manually open and close the blade while installed 10 or so times. Be sure if you try it to wipe all the compound off because duh. Repeat a few times if it improves operation.

Make sure that is not coming into contact with the elbow and jamming it open. Might not have enough spring tension to return it if its contacting the elbow when fully open.

Does your tuner know how to tune for a larger throttle body? That could be your problem vs. a sticking throttle body. If the throttle blades are contacting the body, you should see some evidence of that contact.
