Whipple noise?

A friend just installed his new whipple on his '04 Cobra with only 8k mls on it.
The car ran fine at the beginning now he switched to a 3.00 pulley and gets some noise.
It sounds like a loose timing chain, but the noise goes away when he removes the blower belt.

You only hear the noise when you let of the gas, the noise is gone under load.
Is that a blower problem or something else or something wrong with the polley or belt?

Could be one of the pulley bearings. Spin each of the pulleys by hand and see if you notice a difference from one to the next. However, it only doing it when not loaded up has me a bit. Hopefully it is not something with the rotors or bearing in the whipple. Mess around with the belt length a bit too.

Is he switching to a smaller belt when he installs the smaller pulley?

If not, the belt is probably not tensioned properly and the "slackness" in the belt is causing the noise...

Yep, it was the belt making that strange noise.
I told him to switch back to 3.5 pulley and everything was fine, so he found out that the belt were to loose and "slacking".
