I was on the discount tire site the other day and none of the tires fitting my wheels were available. Since nothing was available I couldn't shop for what I needed.

My question is what tire should I get for that wheel size?

I'm not a drag racer but instead like cruising around in the mountains of N. Ga. I have Mickey Thompsons right not but question if that is the right tire for me. I've been on the Nitto site and like the NT555R.

Do I have to stay with drag radials?

Thanks

For curvy roads an RT or Ultra High Performance tire may be a better option for you. Drag Radials have excellent straight line traction but their sidewalls are softer and don't respond as well in corners.

In the 305/35R18 size I'd recommend looking at the Nitto NT01. These will last a little longer than a drag radial and will have better response in the corners for you. Here's a link: Nitto NT01

Also, if your wheels will allow it (based on width and offset) the 315/30R18 may be a good size to consider as well. This size offers a few additional brands and a few more RT options : 315/30R18
