hello im about to do my first oil change since i bought my cobra, i did a search and most of you use 5w30 synthetic oil. but is it ok to use that same oil for 114,000+ miles? and weather is about 90+ degrees for about 9 months straight :nonono:

I am using 10W 30 because that's what the shop put in. I barely ever change my own oil because my car is so low and it's not much to get it done. I have been wondering if this is the right oil for me. My car just hit 144,444

Why would a shop put in something other than what the Ford Engineer's spec'd for your car?

Stick with 5w-30.

Don't get "High Mileage" oil. Just get synthetic or regular oil in 5w30. I prefer Mobil 1 myself.

5w30, or 10w30 valvoline in mine. but i wouldnt ever run 10w30 in a mod motor... to thick. and ford says 5w20 is safe in them now... i would use 5w30 in your case
