Which gears to get?

hi i have a 98 cobra with the t45 5 speed so heres my question i want a top speed of atleast 140mph but dont want to have to shift into 5th on the 1/4 mile so 3.73s,3.90s, or 4.10s.

( During spring and summer car is daily driven, so mpg doesn't have to be amazing but atleast 20 highway would be nice)

You will NOT shift into 5th gear with any of those gear ratios.

This question has seriously been beat to death.. 'search' is your best friend.

im at 5800rpm@~120 in 4th at the 1/4 mile mark with 3.73s and 25.8" tires. just an FYI to the thread goers. ha.

4.30s.

6500RPMs in 5th = 172.
I've been there.

I wonder how many people cruise around at top speed anyways? It seems like people make a big deal about loosing a few mph if they do anything over 3.73s.

I will never drive my car faster than it traps in the quarter mile..and the only time that will ever happen is while I'm trapping in the quarter mile..lol

So that means I'll see MAYBE 95mph in my car
