The motor currently makes 525 rwhp and 515 lb-ft on a ported Eaton with a Whipple in the very near future. What clutch from the poll list do you recommend? If it's not listed, please add your option and opinion as to why you suggest it. Lastly, should I resurface the flywheel or get a new one? This clutch will be for a street/strip car that's running Nitto NT05 drag radials with an OE gear ratio.

TIA

Don't see a poll list but i've liked the Centerforce DF.. . Nice and soft, no chatter and holds 570 nicely..

Currently on my second one.. . The first one lasted me around a year and a half.. . Could have ran longer but since i had the tranny out decided to throw a new one in there.. gl

I DD mine and race it on the drag strip some and so far the Center Force DF has been a great clutch.

Easy pedal effort and no chatter.

My experience has been with the Ram HD and the Fidanza 4.3
Both held up very well to a lot of track abuse and daily driving.
The best bang for the buck is the 4.3 at less than $300
I tried the CF LM clutch and it didn't last long with mild track abuse.

Does anyone know anything about this Clutch Masters dual disc kit: Clutch Masters- Your High Performance Specialists

The link may not work but I believe model 07-024-TD6 The guy who bought my car got a sweet deal on one but I've never heard of anyone running one. UPDATE 1/11/11: I found out that this clutch failed prematurely so maybe not the best choice for a Terminator.

I ended up going with a SPEC stage 3+ after speaking with a few people "in the know" about the matter. Now starts the 500-1000 mile break-in period...that's the part that is going to suck!

I voted on the Spec 3+. Got about 1800 miles on it and very happy with my power level and track use.

I just installed the 26T Ram Powergrip HD with a Ram steel flywheel. Feels very much like stock which is what I was hoping for since its my DD. Very smooth engagement and no chatter. Im still in the break in period with less than 250 miles into and Im very happy with it.

I think, with about 550 rwhp being the most my car will ever see, I'm going to go with the spec stage 2+. ...but I haven't seen much discussion about 10 spline vs. 26 spline input shafts. When should a 26 spline be used? :??:

You're currently at roughly the same power level as me, and I find the Ram unit a great clutch with no chatter. It's a dream on the street! I switched from a Centerforce DFX to the Ram back when I went to a 26-spline input shaft and haven't looked back!! I was literally smiling ear to ear on the first drive with it, feeling the difference from the old chatter-master (DFX).

What about McLeod clutches? I thought they have some good stuff?

I ended up going with the 26 spline Mcleod RST twin disc and aluminum flywheel. I have only 300 miles on it but engagement is butter smooth and pedal effort is much less. I have since heard I should have gone with the RXT as the RST will smell bad if pounded on. I'll have to wait till its broken in to find out, but so far I love it.

I didn't vote becuase I went from the DFX to the McLeod RXT. I got my car with about 42k miles and the DFX was already in there but it had already went through that disc as well, and it only makes 480/530.

Centerforce has a new type of twin disc clutch called the DYAD clutch. It has one sprung hub and one solid hub and locks up in a manner that is different from other twin disc clutches. I am waiting to hear more info from Centerforce about it, especially the price.

Here's a link to what I have been able to find out so far.

From what I hear clutchmasters is a really good company.
I actually got to drive a Terminator with the ClutchMasters dual disc. Pretty grabby so just a bit more chatter than I'd expect from a dual disc but we will have to see how long it lasts. Very economical price that's for sure. UPDATE 1/11/11: I found out that this clutch failed prematurely so maybe not the best choice for a Terminator.

With a TS and 600rwhp+ in your near future, I nominate the McLeod RXT twin disc clutch. Light pedal and great holding capacity. Aka nice manors on the street and holds a launch at the track.

Today I purchased the Mcleod RXT 26-Spline Twin Disk, the Mcleod Lightened Steel Flywheel, and the D&D 26-Spline Input Shaft. This should be a pretty decent set-up.
