Why so narrow? The minimum width you will widely find in a 5 lug is 17 x 9, followed by 17x10.5.

17x 8 can be found, only 4 lug.


I remember years ago (like 10-years ago), you could get a narrower Cobra R wheel in those sizes made to fit cars like the MN12 chassis Thunderbirds and Cougars. I believe they were sold by KarKraft. However KarKraft doesnt seem to be around any more.

you can find 17x9's really easily. thats what i had on my cobra originally.

any way, the reason that i want 17 x 8 or 17 x 8.5 is that i don't want the wheel to go outside the fender then it will look ugly but if the 17x 9 wan't go outside the fender then i don't mind putting them on my car

What kind of car do you have?

If you have a SN95 car, then a 10.5 is pretty much flush in the rear, and a 9 is pretty much flush up front. 8s just look silly, especially in the rear.

17x 9 Cobra R's are a nice fit up front the rears will still be inside the fenders unless you get 10" wide or spaces for the rear. I just installed 1/2" spacers since I wanted to be able to have the same size wheels and tires all around since I road raced the car.

Here is a shot with out spacers in the rear with 275-40R17 Tires 17x9 all around.
