Hey guys,
So I have a question regarding upgrading the ECU and when it’s necessary or appropriate to do so. Basically it’s (Stock ECU + Lean protection module and Vampire knock kit) VS Haltech 2500 Elite.
I currently have a lean protection module and plug n play vampire knock kit from J&S (both new and uninstalled) but am looking at a deal on a plug in play Haltech 2500 elite.
Basically, my question is would I be good running the protection I currently have and the stock ECU or should I be looking at the standalone option more heavily?
The car will be a fully built machine (built motor, 2.65, e85, all the big boy supporting mods) and the only thing I was really trying to retain was the plug n play factor and not splice or rewrite the entire car. I’d like to not skimp on the last bit of the build and have to do it again when I have the capability to just have it done now.
I’ve seen Malcom comment somewhere about the Haltech saying that would be his option because it can run the factory cluster and gauges vs needing a little screen. I’m inclined to agree and that’s why I’d love some input on what you think is appropriate for my build.
Thanks and Merry Christmas!
