Hey everyone, I got a set of oem cobra rims and was wondering what I should use to clean them up.

They are not the chrome ones they are more like an aluminum finish.

I bought some Mothers Mag & Aluminum polish and read the directions and it said if it doesn't turn black they are not polish able so I finished that wheel and left the rest alone because i didn't want to mess anything up.

Will I be fine using it or is there something else I should use?

My rims look like this.

Those are satin finish, Mother's or any other polish won't do much to them. A quality carnauba will be good protection for them.

Use what you would use on paint.

This. They are clear coated so treat it like paint. You could use a polish/compound to remove mild swirl marks but a quality wax/sealant will probably do the job for most peoples discerning eye.

The better the clear coat condition the more shine you will get.

Treat it just as you would any clear coat finish. Remove all the swirls and marring and then wax.

But if the clear is damaged or peeling then you need to strip off the clear finish, polish the aluminum (which will now be bare) and then coat or wax the bare, but polished aluminum wheels.
