My mods are listed accordingly, I have noticed when by myself I have ZERO wheelhop, from a fast start or any other time. But when I have a passenger, 160-180 lbs, I get that wheel hop, does that seem possible? I would like to know what is the cheapest upgrade that might solve this problem. I like the stock suspension setup and just want to know if any of you have any ideas, thanks, Doc. :pop:

Wheel Hop

I had severe wheel hop with stock Goodyear Eagle F1s. I bought the whole five kit Steeda mod (plates, polyurethene bushings, etc.) but never put them on.
I put BFG T/A KD's on the back and the wheel hop disappeared.
When I went to 18" wheels and tires I put BFG T/A KDw's on, and some of the hop came back.
I'd try stickier tires on the back like the BFG KD's.

Yeah, so the stock bushings (like my 2000GT), are big rubber pieces of junk and I need some more firm, correct?
Yeap, check out maximummotorsports.com IRS section. Everything you need to upgrade the IRS. It will not be cheap though but you could do it in small sperts like me.

498.00 for rear bushings, are you kidding me?

Don't start there.

Step #1 Subframes (Maximum Motorsports) (very wise choice you already made)
Step #2 Billetflow Diff Cover Brace (will protect you from hop to a degree, regardless EVERY IRS cobra must have this, period.
Step #3 Billetflow IRS Brackets (reinforces the rear mounts)
Step #4 MM Front Differential Bushings (holds the front firmly)
Step #5 MM IRS Subframe bushings and 14mm bolts/nuts (eliminates fastener related slop)
Step #6 Sticky tires, MT DR, BFG DR or Nittos

Then stop, that should be enough for your mostly stock setup.

Do not do shocks, last step for sure. Lowering springs will help to a degree, KB springs or HR Race.

Once you pulley/port the uca/lca/rr diff bushings will be necessary.

Just put the passenger in the back seat.
And once again Postban's got it right.

That is one reason I have not done it yet, and I am scared to death of the install.
