Say the cobra is bone stock and so is the GT what will the GT need to stay with the cobra?
1/4 times for each car stock?
0-60 is 5.5 for each car according to motor trend how can that be?
260hp vs 320hp

I know off-road X, bassani cat-back, mac cai, tune, and 3:73's won't touch a stock cobra. Or at least my brothers wouldn't when I was stock, way back when.

Your best bet is to come on one driven by somebody that doesn't know how to extract the power from it well.

Given equal driving abilities by both drivers stock 99/01 > bolt-on GT

To get a win through the 1/4 you're going to need all the bolt-ons plus gears + sticky tires and some good driving.

99-01 Cobra is 4.7 seconds.

I've destroyed EVERY 99-04 GT in 1st and by 2nd gear I'm 2+ car lengths away.

It will take some cams, long tube headers, pulleys, Alum dshaft, 4.10's and probably a 25-50 shot of nitrous.

Before my Cobra I had an 03 GT w/ intake, TB, X pipe, magnaflows, SCT tune, shifter, 315s, ect. and it was not as fast as my bone stock 01 cobra with 83K miles on it. At the local track I could run 14.1s in my GT. With the Cobra stock I ran a 13.6, and that was without knowing how to launch the IRS.

I know of bolt-on 01 Cobra and bolt-on 03 GT that race often and the Cobra always won. Then the GT got a 100 shot, so that made the GT quicker. But now the Cobra has a 100 shot as well. :D

So to beat a stock 01 Cobra a GT will at minimum need all the bolt-ons, gears, a good driver, and a lot of luck. To cleanly beat a Cobra the GT will need to have cams/nos/sc or something along those lines.

Only problem is finding someone with a stock 01 Cobra. :burnout:

This might sound odd, but I have a friend with a 03 gt that has CAI, 4.10s, Preditor tune, O/R H, SLP catback, Edge stall converter, BBK TB, BBK eldbow and drag radials. And he would run 13.4-5's at around 100-101mph with 1.8 60 foots. I with an O/R H, magnaflow catback and a k&n filter ran a 13.7 at 104 with a 2.2 60 foot. So you can see where he gets me in the 60 foot. They have pretty good torque for the 1/4 mile comparing to our cars. If me and him would go from a roll of around 25 I would beat him. His car also was very fast I thought for a automatic GT. Even before all of his mods he said he ran a 14.2, which isnt really seen alot on stock automatic GT's.

Well I will give you my .02 I raced a guy at the local track about a month ago. He has an 02 gt with a 75 shot and 4:10 and exhaust.. I have 3:73 and a cat-back at the time. He beat me by a fender almost all the time. I wheel wheel hopped to bad and could not come out of the hole smooth enough... My best time that day was a 9.10 at 81 mph his was a 8.85 at 82.mph in the 1/8 of a mile. I know that the 18 inch wheels are slowing my car down.. I am no drag racer anyway..

My buddy's 2000 GT with 4.30 gear, H-pipe, catback, coilovers, and drag radials went 8.17 in the 1/8th. That's 12.70's in the 1/4. Factory freak? Yeah I think it is.

Im guessing your talking about me and Justin? I would whoop his ass everytime when we both went all motor. Then he got the spray and with a 125 shot he would put about 2-2 1/2 cars on me. Now I got my spray on but we are yet to run spray vs.spray. I have a feeling Ill get him again :D
