Well I think Saturday I'm going to look at some mysterious blower that this kid has for sale. The wife gave me the green light to use the tax return on it if I wanted to.....yeah kick ass wife eh?

Well my question is....what do I need to look for or look out for on a used blower? The thought of going used on something like this does NOT interest me that much but the price is right.

I don't know any information on it such as brand or what it comes with.

Look for any shaft play or impeller damage. If you spin the blower by hand you should not hear any scraping or scratching sound coming from inside the case. If you do hear it that most likely means there is some bearing damage and a rebuild will be in order.

Yeah the impeller should spin real smooth with no noises, make sure all the hoses and piping arent warped or bent.

if you know him personally, you could always buy it, and send it to vortech and have them inspect it.....if it's screwed, return it to the guy.
