are you trying to make the car faster in the 1/4 mile or are you just interested in making more power out of the engine, is the drivetrain built up?

more hp. the car has almost everything. its just so hard to think what else for the money i have to spend. i thought ignition, longtubes, headwork, etc... but i dont know what to do. or i could have it dyno tuned with a few more ignition upgrades again for the weather and humidity in oklahoma. it made 313hp/333tq in cali. that was before i put the less restrictive exhaust on, the march underdrie pulley kit and that was with my heavy ass cobra r's. now ive mounted draglites. i was thinking msd digital 6al upgraded coil and full tune on the dyno. what do yall think.

go with the msd digital or 6al and a blaster coil then a snow methonal kit. then bring it to a dyno and see how much timming you can advanve, it is very possible you will not need a chip. the water methanol is like running race gas or 112 octane.
these mods will cost about $950-1000
the dyno should only be another $140
at the most you could see another 15-25hp
you could also do an electric fan i cant say what the power gain is but you can feel the difference.

i have a fluidine 4-core with dual electric fans on it already. if anything all that will get the tune on a smoother power curve. ive never researched prices for the methanol but will soon. thanks

how about a better cam, that one is old school as shit. they make tons of better cams out there now.

WORD!

If you realistically want to make some more power, dump that crappy cam! I'd call Ed Curtis and drop 300 bones and a really good cam. Heck, even one of Anderson's cam would do you some good.

What do you have up top for an intake? MAF?

BTW, don't even think about the longtubes. IMO the little extra you might get out of them isn't worth the money or the PITA putting them on. If anything, put some 1 3/4 shorties on it.

Oh ya, what are you using for EEC management?

Did I mention the cam already...............:burnout:

i would like to do the cam but i dont have the time nor the tools to install it. this car is my daily driver and i work 5-7 days a week. yes it has a maf setup already. also the eec, what is that. im guessing what computer? i really dont know which one or do i know how to tell which EEC i have. i also already have BBK 1 3/4" shorty's. i just bought the car from cali and i use to be a import guy then finally realized what my friends were preaching to me about. lol but its true and ive always like fox's. i know a bit but not everything.

That's a really sweet setup you've got there. Honestly, other than the cam I wouldn't touch a thing. I'm guessing if it came from California the cam was installed due to their strict emissions testing out there.

So really, other than a better set of heads or cam, your looking at power adders at this point. You've got a rock solid foundation and if it were me, I'd seriously consider the cam. It can be done in a day with a few simple hand tools. I would recomment using Anderson's little magnetic gizmos for the lifters to speed up the process. They're a little pricey but it will have back up in running in no time.

You'll still have money left over to freshen up the interior to boot!

I was referring to the main computer when I said EEC. Is it possible it already has a chip on it? Just look behind the kick panel on the passenger side......you should be able to tell fairly easy.

What kind of suspension does it have on it (especially in the rear)? If you have stock parts back there, don't waste your time or $ on the engine and get something to get more traction (as you've got more than enough to blow the tires off there now if you've got stock suspension out back).

Of course, if your car already has some good stuff out back, I'd go for the custom cam and tune.

im also gonna change the tranny fluid soon. it seems like its hard to get into gear when the tranny heats up. i am going to go with the GM synchromesh PT#:12345349. i have already tried adjusting the clutch cable at the firewall aftermarket adjuster kit.

Sweetness.... this may just be me, but, if mine had all that in it, I'd just finish it off with a MM torque-arm since you've got most of the major supporting parts already in there.....but hey, more power is always good too!

thanks for all the input guys. it still seems that i walk from the topic confused and stomped on what to do to the car next. future plan include: 185cc afr heads, thicker head gasket kit, B&G turbo kit and tune
