I am about to buy some Weld RTS 17 inch from beefcake. And was wandering what tire to run up front. These will be street driven a bit. Thanks.

Your doing 17's in rear also ? 17 front 15 rear is optimal for traction as you'll have more sidewall at your disposal. IMO White letter hoosiers all the way around are win!

He said street driven. I don't know of any other front skinnie for 17x4.5 that could be managable in the rain.

You can run the Hoosier fronts on the street w/o taking crazy turns.

Now if we're talking about being unsafe in the rain. The same can be said with half the drag radials out there that are DOT approved. If you get caught in the rain get off the highway keep her below 50.

Hoosier is a radial street tire

we include it as an option in our Weld RTS packages

Are you running a 17X4.5 front wheel or the 17x7 front wheel? I believe you can run a regular 215 street radial with the 17x7 wheel on the street.

Yes i have wilwood big brakes all the way around my car. So i can only put 17s on the rear.

it will net be DD or anything with these tires or drove in the rain but maybe once a week i drive it.

Thanks Eric. Considering I still don't have my Forgestars, maybe I'll just have to go straight to the Welds instead! I'd like to run a wider wheel in the front though, as I'm not sure I'd like to drive around with the narrow front. I'm trying to refrain from buying the Welds yet so I can order a Magnum T56 next with you guys! :burnout:
