Im really itchig to buy a lightning but every time I check the specs I see different times for 0-60 and quarter mile. I know the 99-00 had 20 less horsepower but thats not throwing me off. I was just looking for a few stock times from you guys. Thanks

Okay, keep in mind that I've drag raced a grand total of 7 times here... I have a stock 2001, and it can be summed up with a "I suck."

Ran a best of 14.624 with a 60' of 2.245. The rest were all in that area, just a little over, with most of my 60' times in the 2.4s.

Now like I said, keep in mind that I suck. Everyone has said 14.0s are completely realistic and to be expected, with a 60' of around 2.0.

Just going to need more practice, I think.

Wow, those are great numbers for stock. Is it bone stock? No filter or anything? Those are great dyno numbers too.

Did you race it at HRP or Ennis?

¼ Pass made back in Feb, ran at SAR off I-10, only mod I have currently is a Factory Tech Valve Body that I just put in 2 weeks ago right after getting my baseline dyno pulls.

That's kickass. San Antonio Raceway? I hear that's a pretty good track.

Last night, I just ran a 13.67 @ 100. I had 1030 miles on the clock. I'm not sure how TXSVTLIGHTNING's truck goes almost 4 MPH faster being absolutely bone stock. My 60 ft times are a little better, and the best I could muster up was the above-mentioned pass. I have a couple of friends that when they ran theirs bone stock, they did 13.90 at betwen 98-99 MPH. Basically, with these things, after you get a good 60 ft time, you let the tranny shift on its own. I don't have anything, not even a K&N panel filter, but I did have a 160 degree thermostat in. I know that doesn't make any difference, just telling you the extent of modifications I have. I was also full weight, with about 50 pounds of extra crap in the front with me. I will say that it seems these truck make significant more power the cooler they're run, and the cooler the weather you run them in.

best stock time at 75/80 after a 45 min drive down there and 10 min in the staging lane (drove down hard too) was 13.9 on the shitty goodyears. 4 lb crank pulley ran 13.6. put nitto drag radials on, sold the truck before i went back...now that summer is back, i hate my life again. wish i hadnt done it...

yeah you and me have about the same mods
with out the fan i ran a 12.78
with the fan i ran a 12.77
but hell that could just be a better launch and better air
but my water temp was a lot cooler and that had to help a bit
other than that no differance
but my mpg went up by 2

My 03 with just K&N drop in ran 13.6@102 first time out...

Went back a few months later with a little more practice and pulled a 13.46@103

Had it dyno'd with a little under 5K on it and it put down 357hp and 452tq...(pretty certain it was a dynojet SAE...)

Anyone have a clue as to why I'm trapping at 94-95mph? People have said there has to be something wrong with the engine, but what do I look for? It's a stock 2001 here in Hawaii. Temp and humidity is up, but there's another basically stock L running 14.0s at 100 no problem.
