I'm installing a stereo system in my '93 cobra and am wondering what is the box under the passanger seat? I had a '92 GT before this and it wasn't in it. is it a cobra only thing? It looks like something connected to the computer. I'll be folowing the wire tonight to see where it leads.

I'd recommend that you make up a new wiring harness to bypass the amplifier. If you put too much power into it you will burn it out. I remember when I first installed my so called hipower stereo, only like 24 watts or something like that. But when you turned the volume up, going thru the factory amp. You got horrible distortion and sound.

Just thought I would pass that along.

I agree with the other posts. When I had my CD player installed, I had to pay extra for a wiring harness to by-pass the amp.

thanks guys. I was hopping it was something usless. I'll bet that is why the stereo sounds so bad now.
