What the best set up for my 03 Cobra..

Hey guys just bought an 03 Cobra vert with 27k and I bought it with no blower, lower manifold, injectors, mass air, ect.. and I'm slowly buying parts. I dont wanna spend a whole lot, but What's the best bang for the buck and is there much difference in what I want to do??? Also I'm starting with a posi ported eaton and I'm not sure of exact specs..


1) 2.76 Pulley, 2lb lower, 60lb injectors, kenne bell boost a pump, DiabloSport MAFia on stock mass air, C&L cold air kit, Fluidyne Aluminum Heat Exchanger, flowmaster catback, upr catted x-pipe, and a Tru dyno tune.

2) 2.76 pulley, 39lb injectors, no fuels mods, DiabloSport MAFia on stock mass air, C&L cold air kit, Fluidyne Aluminum Heat Exchanger, flowmaster catback, upr catted x-pipe, and a Tru dyno tune.

Is there enough difference between the two to spend the extra money?

There is tons of of information on combinations in "search."

I'd do #2 with a BAP and 2.9" upper if not porting, and #1 if porting the blower/TB/Plenum with a 4# lower.

since the blower is ported already i would go with option 1. get a dragon throttle body and plenum from posi while your at it.
switching to a 2.9 upper and a 4lb lower will net you more power and have less belt slip.

Dont forget the larger Alt pulley to go with that 4lb lower as well.

Id go with option 1 with these changes.


- Go with a 2.93 upper with a 4lb. or 6lb. lower.
- Alt pulley
- JLT RAI. Dont use C&L. Unless theyve changed they are aluminum and that holds heat.
- If you have the doe I would get bassani/magnaflow/Borla catback exhaust. Unless you just like flows. Some do.
- Id ditch the UPR stuff and go with the same brands for your mid-pipe. Im about to switch from a Bassani catted-X to a Mac Prochamber. Maybe consider that. Ive heard bad things about upr's exhaust stuff.
- Id use Rick Erdman @ ATS or John Lund for my tune.


With option 1 with these changes will be well worth the money over option 2. Especially with a Posi port. This will be a great platform to start with.
