I am thinking about getting a 315/30-18 BFG drag radial, but according to a cetain website, the rim range for this tire is 11"-12". I am curious what width rims you guys are runinng these tires on since a LOT of poeple on this site with these tires, but I don't know how many are running the 18 vs. the 17. All I want to know is how WIDE the rim is that you are running the tire with. (preferably the poeple with the 18" rims)

Thanks!

running a BFG 315 on a 9 inch rim is dangerous and will look like crap

I had BFG 315's on my 17x9" 03 Cobra. I had to use 1/4" spacers to get them to clear the IRS bolt. They overhung the sides of the rim just a little and it really didn't look bad at all. They hooked up really nice but I never cared for the definite directional instability I always felt after accelerating above 80 MPH.

So I removed them and went with the Nitto 315's on the 9 without spacers. They fit like a glove and are the best 315's on the market for the 03/04 Cobra IMO.

The reason I am asking is that I have a 10.5" rim on the rear, and I was checking on the Tire Rack, and their specs say the 315 is supposed to go on a 11-12" rim. BUT, while a drag radial is the LAST tire I want to not fit correctly, I figured if enough people were doing it and runing good times with good trackion, I might try them.

Nitto 315 run a little smaller than other brands and will work fine. Though Nitto web-site charts may suggest a larger rim the 315's fit well all the way down to a 17x9 rim.

315 on a 10.5" is perfect. End of story 11" or 12" wheels are not necessary or practical on IRS cars.

Think a 335/18 Nitto will fit a 9.5?

I hope you are joking. That is waay oversized. The 315 NITTO is as large as I would go on a 9.5 and that is the only 315 tire i would put on it.

I would never put a 315/35 BFG on anything less than 10.5, and to be honest I would use an 11"+ rim. I have 17X11 rims with 315/35's on there. They look good.

Tire manufacturer's have rim specifications for a reason. It's called safety. Please for your safety and others, never put a tire that big on that small of a rim.

As you can see the 315 on a 10" rim bulges a LOT, so do the 335 nittos' which are about the same size. Not safe.
