I did some searches hoping to find an some suggestions but no luck. Can you guys recommend a good code reader? My check engine light is on again and I had a buddy scan it to tell me it was an o2 sensor. He cleared the code and the light stayed off for 3 months. Rather than impose on him or anyone else I'd rather get my own tool but I'm not sure what to get. I've got a stock engine '98 cobra (only mods are exhaust, gears and suspension). This summer I'll probably go with CAI, long tubes, o/r x-pipe and a tune. What would you guys suggest? Would the same scanner be able to be used on my stock '90 7/UP 5.0 Conv.? I'll never mod this car but it would be nice if I could use the same scanner if the light ever comes on. Do I have to buy a different scanner? Thanks in advance.

You know AutoZone scans codes for free, right? And your 90 is OBD1. Won't work.

I use my SCT Xcal to scan any that pop up on my car.

I use this orange scanner I got for like $7 at advance auto a couple years ago. Damn cat error on the DD pops up every other month or so, so I just clear it. Best $7 spent ever.
