following Blazers guide in the how to section for oil pump gears, I would plan two 8 hr days to be safe. I used the Freedom Racing Coyote Spring compressor and a compression checker adapter to air up the cylinder so the valve wouldn't drop.

The stock retainer are certainly strong enough but not what we would call a performance part, for those looking we offer a lightweight high end Titanium retainer to help reduce weight and improve RPM potential, we also have a Steel version for the budget minded.

I measured and shimmed each valve so I spent about 5 hours just on the springs. I rent the tools to do it also if you need them.

If going through all the work, it would be worth while to go with the titanium retainers

We agree, even if it is a upgrade to the chromoly retainers, its alot of work to put a stock retainer back on, especially when the idea is to improve performance.
